In the few years I’ve been conscious of the conversation (and battle), the overturning of Roe v Wade became a kind of idol among a certain tribe of persons; a prize worth pursuing even at the cost of the most valuable aspects of human character and care. Almost anything was subject to sacrifice in the quest to win this trophy.
